Hike not given - working for a fortune 500 company as a consultant
Hi folks i am currently working with one of the fortune 500 companies as a consultant. i was hired in march 2016 and working till date over here. my appraisal was due on july. when appraisal happened i was given an extension but no hike in terms of my ctc. when i had a word with my manager he said the extension was given due to my hard work and my commitment towards my work. now my question is if the organization has recognized my commitment why was i not given any hike? what should i do now? shall i start looking out for another opportunity? if yes what is the best way to get a job at the earliest? i would like to mention here at this point of time i can not afford to loose my job and sit at home as i have 2 to 3 emi s to pay for which i require to get a higher ctc thanks.
Fake hiring in reputed top 10 fortune 500 company
Dear all respected senior members there is one serious issue with one of my friend.he has been employed with one of the top ranking fortune 500 company .he joined the organisation as per the experience he had earlier and interested in six months back. but when he joined he came to know there was no such opening rather some other low profile requirement was there that he was forced to do indirectly in which he was not keen and said no before hiring now he is badly caught in this situation can t do anything neither take such an assignment as he is married and involves him 24 7 in the same. now the problem is he has completed 6 months in the same organisation and they are not confirming him and giving him unrelevant responses that is quiet ambiguous. kindly help with your suggestions what he can do to face this situation as change in this market situation is also not easy. regards vyakhya

Can a company pull back an offer cuz of high blood pressure?
Hi an acquaintance of mine was working with a fortune 500 manufacturing co. in admin. he got an offer from another fortune 500 mfg co. in admin. the co. that made an offer was following up with him to put his resignation in the current co. and to join them at the earliest. he resigned and after having released from the current co. he went for the pre employment medical for the new company. in the pre employment medical everything was normal except for his bp being very high. the hospital informed the new company on the telephone of their findings. the executive from the new company told him they will wait to receive the medical reports. its been a week since the medical has been completed but the new company is not reverting back. no response to emails too. this situation is definately not helping my acquaitance. he is on medication to keep the bp normal and the stress of having left the earlier job and with no assurance of the new one is shooting his bp up. my question is can a company refuse employment cuz of high bp. advise opinions suggestions from esteemed industry colleagues will be highly appreciated. regards richa
