Default Hi All

Hi All,
I am vardhini, from Singapore and new to this forum.
I want to know HR activities and practices in Singapore, like their recruitment and selection process, labour laws etc. If any HR person working in Singapore can guide me, because I'm planning to work here.

Also can anybody tell the important charecteristics of a HR professional

Hello vardhini,

In singapore Professional attitude works...

- Be on time..
- I think more employee like culture
- Pay 100% attention to your work
- More focus on skills (mentioned ur main skills and all the strengths)
- Labour laws are strict but accomodating (how do u impress them)
- Environment are friendly (choose selective friends initially if u do n't surprizes)
- Some good faces Malayisans and Tamilians
- Vacate to malaysia for good holiday time and money saving

these are general inputs should help...

for selection etc contact local agency ...

Hi Vardhini,
Welcome To Cite HR. I can't update you on the laws & policies of HR in Singapore but as far as important characteristics for a HR professional are concerned remember :

1. Be Empathetic
2. Be Earnest in your work even if you do it for a single day.
3. Be Diplomatic
4. Change yourself according to the demand of time.
First 2 characteristics are on the HUMAN side & Last 2 characteristics are on the PROFESSIONAL side.
Catch you soon
Bye
:P

Nice to see a member from Sadhna Institute here.

For information to my colleagues- Sadhna Institute in Pune (SCMLD) is a unique B-school in terms of being funded and supported by Alumni of Symbiosis Institute(SCMHRD) and probably the only one in Asia. It is Headed by Prof M S Pillai who is one of the pioneers of Management Education in India and was a founder Director of SCMHRD.The students really undergo rigorous schedule and am sure they would do well in corporate world.

WELCOME TO CITEHR.COM!! and we all hope this would prove to be a useful tool for upgrading yourself in HR areas.
