I have come to know from one of my senior who is in this field from last 40 year for coverage of Provident Fund, if any establihsment have 20 or more employees whether they all are over the ceiling of P.F. i.e. Rs.6500/- pm. Then we have to get the coverage of Provident Fund.
Kindly give your suggestions

| | Re: PROVIDENT FUND COVERAGE CRITERIA Hi,
if all employee are above 6500 there is no compulsion of PF deduction but you can do it voluntary basis .
Pls also check if you hired some worker on contract basis for e.g Housekeeping, security guards from some vendor that they should deposit the PF of those employee working on your site .

| | Re: PROVIDENT FUND COVERAGE CRITERIA Even if the lowest salary exceeds 6500, if the number of employees exceeds 20, the unit is covered under the EPF & misc Provisions Act. Only thing is that deduction and contribution of EPF/PF in respect of those drawing more than 6500 need not be made. Here ensure that coverage is based on the number of employees (ie, 20) and contribution is based on the salary of the employee AT THE TIME OF JOINING THE ESTABLISHMENT and therefore, if once covered and later on salary exceeded 6500, then he is contiuned to be covered under the scheme.
