Dear Friends,

I wanted some relevant industry examples where

1) how is conflict tackled in an organisation

Like when their is a conflict b/w two groups .Both will try their best to be at d top to accomplish the goal..In that sense competition will be arised and both groups will try to take that medal..and ultimately it will be beneficial for organization.
I think this is how conflict are converted to a benefit inan organization..if any1 has knowledge abt this ..do share wid us!

Hey,

Thanks for the reply, they seemed to be informative. However I'm looking out for Industry examples, if you could cite examples of particular organisations who managed conflict well and the outcome was good or vice versa.

Thanks once again

The best start is not to put off dealing with it. There are several approaches to conflict, totally dependent upon the situation. For example there is forcing, accommodating, compromising, collaborating, and and avoiding. However the situational considerations dictate the approach you need to take. I would be happy to discuss this in more detail, being a trained Mediator helps.

The genesis of conflict is difference in thinking. All think differently because of their upbringing, experiences and the genetic code.

Valuing individual differences and creating an organizational culture of wholesome cohesiveness with due regard/weightage to peoples' views and opinions normally nips the problem.

However, this is easier said and done. But I have found the use of SIX THINKING HATS technology very useful in bringing about a culture where conflict can be avoided if not entirely eliminated.

Sunil Chandra
