Default Fresher - HR

Hello!
I am a Bcom student currently pursuing my Masters from Symbiosis, specialising in Human Resource Management.
I will be completing my course by mid next year, currently I am trying to apply in companies which have openings for HR, but my application is not being considered. Is it because I have not completed my course or because I am from a totally different background.

I also heard that a fresher needs to work in a consultancy for about 2 years and then apply for companies. Is that so? or can we try applying in companies even as a fresher.

Thanks!

Dear Lakshman,

There is nothing wrong with your academic background and there is no need to work in a consultancy to get a job in a company, just keep trying and don't loose hope, you will get a job pretty soon.

I know people on key post of HR without any degree in HR, moreover I've also seen people with bachelors in commerce but performing very well in HR and on managerial positions. Nothing to worry one day you will get an offer

Dear Lakshman,

You needn't worry at all about your academic background. You may not be getting offer just because you have not completed your course.

Wait till the campus placements and see the results then. Otherwise you can wait till completion of your course.

But keep on applying.

Regards.

Hi,

There companies which look with the background check as to know how strong is he in hie functional aspects.I am telling you because i had faced such a problem as i am techno functional guy with IT and management knowledge.

You have to prepare your resume in such a way that you must get a call from the client place. Its the way you prepare the resume.I can say one thing that you can't change the degrees you have but you can enhance the skill sets in your resume.

You had applied to which companies i don't know, more over to which job portals.Even show your project work or summer project done and the topic.Highlight the project in such a way that you should get the call at any cost.

The other question you asked that there are the consultancy jobs and less of company jobs. Now a days the companies are providing with the Management trainees but earlier they used to take people with 2+ years experience in HR.But i will say that try all the ways and where ever you get ,which even satisfy you join there.

BE POSITIVE AND TRY TO SEND THE PROFILE TO MANY OF THE COMPANIES.

Bye
