Hello !
I am working as an IT recruiter with a known consultancy. I want to change my stream to HR generalist role.
Wanted to know if this is possible and also how should i make a move for the same.
Also wanted to know the consultancies which provide HR services to the clients.

Hi
Post your resume in job portals you will get no. of calls. attend the interview for selected companies. collect the details of both the comapny and the job profile then decide.
Try for small companies so that you can learn more. in small companies they will have only one person to do all HR activities.
you can try from your contacts instead of trying through consultants.
All the very best.

Hi Sudandira,
Thanks for your suggestion. I have already posted my profile on job portals but the calls that i get is all mostly related to recruitment.
Since i have 4+ years into recruitment even small companies are slightly confused about me considering for HR.
Even i wanted to get into a small company.
Let me know if you have any other way.

Hi
Try for any recruiter opening in the IT company. since you have have 4+ years in recruitment you can try for Sr level. After spending few years or after knowing about the company and the operations you can try for generalist position in the same company.
This is high time to shift if you are really interested.
but only big or medium size companies will look for recruiters.

Hello !
Your point is correct grace. But incase if the company is not having the opening now sometimes the ref also doesn't work.
Since you would be fresher in that area no one is ready to take that risk.
Anyways ! In case if you come across anything please do let me know.
Regards,
Jigna.
