As per the latest trends and scenario, the ideal ratio of nurse-patient in ICU is 1:1, even 1:2 is also acceptable. However,if the number of patients is less, then the ratio which is widely accepted is, 1 nurse per 4.25 patients. Now days, a trend has set in to create ICU at ground floor itself that is near to casualty and general ward for easy transfer of patients. Also, the platform of nursing stations has to made high enough for better view.
