Staff Nurses Bed Ratio Reg.

Dear Friends,

I am working as a Manager -HR in Multi Specility Hospital, Coimbatore.
I would like to know the bed ratios of staff nurse in cardioc intensive care unit.

Dear Mr. Arun Sathya Seelan, (hope I've got your name right!!Pardon me,if I've got it wrong!)

As per the latest trends and scenario, the ideal ratio of nurse-patient in ICU is 1:1, even 1:2 is also acceptable. However,if the number of patients is less, then the ratio which is widely accepted is, 1 nurse per 4.25 patients. Now days, a trend has set in to create ICU at ground floor itself that is near to casualty and general ward for easy transfer of patients. Also, the platform of nursing stations has to made high enough for better view.

1:2 Ratio would be ideal

1:1 Ratio would be better.

in some reputed & costly hospitals

ratio goes up to

1:3
1:4
