applicability of Labour laws on IT companies

Dear all,
Can anybody help me out by clearing my query, its this, are labour laws applicable on IT companies? because these acts are very old and IT is a very recent concept.........someone please guide.

hey Amith Thanks a ton for your kind reply.........but how does it apply?/is it done through any specific notification by the government??or does it apply expressly as an IT company satisfies the deefinition of an Establishment under the Labour Laws?
