legal compliances for retail industry

arvind.bajpai Started The Discussion:

I have just logged in. Can anyone help me out by providing the list of legal formalities and compliances to be made for opening a retail store

samarkomal -
1) The first thing is to enter into an Agreement for taking place for opening of store. The nature of Agreement depends on case to case like Lease Agreement, Leave & License Agreement etc.
2) After that take Trade License from the respective state.
3) Take Music License if you want to play music in the store. Music License is taken from IPRS and PPL (from both the agencies)
4) Register the store under Shops and Establishment Act of the respective state. (for the time the registration in Delhi has been kept in abeyance by the State Government)

The above is required from the legal point of view.

Hi.... there are different kinds of licenses/permissions/NOC's from different authorities which are required tobe procured at the time of opening/during the running of retail store. You need to specify the kind of products you would be dealing & there are requirements of monthly/half yearly/rearly comlainces which you need to look into.We are handling licences/statutory complainces of world's biggest retail chain of stores in northern India while we based at Gurgaon. You can contact us on 09212220044 for any clarification-Rajesh Gupta

Dear Deepak /Samar,

Can you tell me about the legal compliances related to HR specifically for a retail industry?
is there a certain compliance if the store is opening for 12 hrs?
is there any way by which we can pay a fresher at the store less than the minimum wages?
