Job Related: I just launched a free national classified board type site covering each state and dedicated to keeping things simple and local. The early stages of my site were based on San Frans most popular job site. The site is growing at a nice pace and doing well. Certain areas are spreading. Most popular areas are:(MA/NY/OR/CA)
I'm interested in hearing some feedback on the sites detailed job section: lay out, questions, fields, etc. Is there anything I'm missing or should consider to make this a more enjoyable job site. We do have other features related to our job section like a resume matching, but that will not be released until a later date.
This project has taken me over 1 yr to develop, I hope you will donate 5 minutes of your time by adding a job posting to see what you like and dislike. Hopefully your feedback will make my free service a better. service to you. Check Out: http://www.plugstar.com *Looking to make this free service better.*

One of the challenges you will have is competing with Craigslist.org. They are pretty big in the markets which you list as being big in. But if you don't charge, that will be one advantage over them (at least in CA and NY, where they charge - I think they are still free in MA).
I couldn't figure out how to post a job (I don't have one to post right now - was just trying to see what is involved)
When I moused over 'more' on the jobs, the way it listed the rest of the possible job categories was a little confusing.
You may want to separate out some states into different categories (e.g. CA should at least be northern and southern, or perhaps even more categories like San Diego area, LA area, San Francisco Bay area, Sacramento area, etc.).

Thanks, Just so you know we are not competing w/ cl. They provide by city we are by state and our job form is specific but since you couldn't find Post Plug link this could be an issue. We have been online for one month. I agree that CL is big but many people have never even heard of it if you think about how large the Internet population is. Also CL attacts CL users we want our user base to have access to more than the underground market. We don't plan on penetrating the CA market until a later time. There are no plans to charge and we may add regions within states down the road. Thank you. I will ask some other people if finding the post plug link is hard and job categories are confusing. I really appreciate your advice.

I'm not from USA and immediately noted that the site is USA specific. I attempted to place a free ad for a Resume guide I sell from my website(selecting New York) but made a syntax error. When I returned to the form all my text was gone. Frustrating and might deter people!
The main page doesn't make it immediately clear how you can post an ad - a bit of trial and error. Is there some way to have a "Place Ad" link on the page.
A model that I like can be found at www.cracker.com.au (and no, I don't have any business interest in this website other than as a user)
