Hello Everyone,

Greetings for the day !!!

I am working as an Sr. HR Executive at a company in Delhi and i have 7 months of experience in HR.I started my career as HR Executive in Apr 2016 after my PGDM completion in HR with a company.I left my first job early as they didn't pay me on time.Right now i am associated with a good company as Sr. HR Executive. In my first job i was responsible for handling the entire HR Department along with handling payroll, attendance, grievances, employee engagement activities, induction, joining and exit formalities, releasing offer letters and all other small to big things as i was the only HR there. Now i want to make my career in Generalist profile only.

In my current company i am the only HR and am also into generalist role but i am not responsible for making salary, attendance, grievances are not there as such and every work i has to do with the permission of my senior unlike my previous job. i am not getting much exposure here.what should i do to explore HR and learn things and how should i grow as i don't want early change any more.

Kindly suggest me please.what should i keep on studying/doing to make my career very good in HR Generalist profile. Also i am preparing for some of the government HR jobs like DMRC, HPCL, ONGC etc.

Swati,
Are you concerned that you are not a part of entire operations or you are not a free-bee to take up any decisions? You just started your career. You need to have lot of patience, which is very much important for a HR personnel. First of all learn what all you do on your daily basis. You don't need to do courses to land up in a good job. All you have to do is to master what you do, opportunities will follow you. Good luck!
