Dear All, Hi, I am into Materials/Spares Planning Procurement, Inventory management, Warehouse operations. Presently I am looking for tips/sources for making workstations in warehouse at Inbound & Outbound area-involving Picking,Packing of parts,Master packing , QR Code generation, scanning & labelling. Want to have a systematic workstation to do all these activities efficiently & in lesser time. Anybody from this area, please advise.

Where is your warehouse located? What kind of material flows through your warehouse? Where the shipments are delivered and who is the end-user of your material? What is the throughput per month (in Metric tonnes)? Have you done an ABC Analysis or any other analysis of the inventory stored in your warehouse?
The kind advice or suggestions that you are asking those cannot be given through the reply. You need a workplace guide to create a process flow for inbound and outbound operations.
The process flow also will depend on various measures on which you need to measure the efficiency of the warehouse. Therefore, designing process flow apart, you need to measure turnaround times of various processes. I say so since I provide consulting services on Supply Chain Management (SCM) that includes Warehouse Management as well. I conduct the following training programmes on the subject of warehouse management:
a) 1-day Training Programme on "Effective Warehouse Management"
b) 2-day Training Programme on "Warehouse Management (Advance Level)"
c) 1-day High-value Training Programme on "How to Analyse Warehouse Operations?"

Hi Dinesh,thanks for your response. It's our central warehouse at Bhiwandi,Mumbai and it is basically spare parts of home appliances.It is stock transferred to branches all over India basis stocking norms or requirement and from branch warehouses in turn material is billed to our 3P service centres. It is quite a sizeable volume delivered to & dispatched from central warehouse. We would like to have better inbound/outbound workstations considering major volumes handled at central warehouse
