How arrears in salary is calculated What is the Base of the same .

Suppose your salary was Rs 1000 PM and it is revised form earlier period to say Rs 1200 PM
Then arrears will comprise of 1200-1000= 200
DA arrears for the period.
Any allowance based on basic pay would also get revised.
So all these aspects to be taken into a/c
IT for the periods involved can worked out and recovered fro arrears..

Hello Nathrao thanks for your inputs on the above. I also want to know if suppose X CTC is Rs. 30,000/- Which also includes Bonus of Rs. 30,000/-and there is a increment @ 10% from Jan. 2016 onwards, so how to calculate Arrears in this respect for the Period 01st Jan. 2016 to 31st March 2016. I.e Increment of Rs. 3000/- p.m. will be received as arrears alongwith Bonus or what?. Please give your Inputs on above also let me know whether any TDS also to be deducted on Arrears Paid. Thanks

Whatever Bonus and arrears are paid will be taxable.
TDS is to be deducted if taxable salary is above the tax slabs.
Increment payment and bonus payment are not linked.
Increment date and bonus date may not be same.
CTC and Gross salty are different concepts.
Just work out what is his gross pay+bonus+ any other taxable payments, reduce deductible for tax purposes like EPF,Medical insurance etc and work out his taxable salary.

Hello Sir, thanks for your important Inputs. My HR has told me that they have worked out the Calculation of Arrear in Salary as follows:-
My Previous Actual Gross Salary was Rs. 21,000/-, the management decided to Give the Increment of Rs. 3,000/- p.m. from 01st Jan. 2016 to March 2016 i.e. rs. 9,000/- for 3 months. and deducted Rs. 658/- as a PF, now the Arrears on Salary comes to Rs. 8,352/-, whether the calculation is correct from HR dept. Whether I am eligible for the Bonus also, i.e. whether the arrear in salary also must include "Bonus". When spoken to my HR dept. they says that I am not eligible for Bonus as per Bonus Act. whether this is true. What is the "Bonus Act". Please reply on the above as it will be very helpful to me. Thanks.
