| Re: salary certificate Dear Madhu,
salary certificate is a certificate issued by a company on its letter head showing details of salary structure. this is issued to an employee to facilitate geting loans from banks or other money lending institutions or for any other needs. there is no fixed format for the same. it varies from company to company.
Form 16 is issued by the company, which is a fixed format of the government of India for all. in this the income declaration is given by the employee and also declaration of the investment made by the employee to avail tax exemption. It is used to calculate the tax payable to the government at the end of the financial year.
