Dear Madhu,

salary certificate is a certificate issued by a company on its letter head showing details of salary structure. this is issued to an employee to facilitate geting loans from banks or other money lending institutions or for any other needs. there is no fixed format for the same. it varies from company to company.

Form 16 is issued by the company, which is a fixed format of the government of India for all. in this the income declaration is given by the employee and also declaration of the investment made by the employee to avail tax exemption. It is used to calculate the tax payable to the government at the end of the financial year.

For your convinience i am attaching a proforma salary certificate.

ON THE LETTER HEAD

Ref No........./2007
Date: 31-10-2007

CERTIFICATE

The following details of the employee is certified as per our records:

2) Employee No. :
3) Date of joining. :
4) Date of birth :
5) Salary drawn per month :

Reason : Salary certificcate is issued on the request of the employee

Thanks nilendra and amit for ur valuable information.

But i have a query on this - In our company, one employee (problematic person) resigned form his services and after one month he easily gets his experience letter, reliving letter and we are done with all the full and final settlement with him.
And he have all the salary slips of each and every months but now he is asking for his salary certificate.

Pls suggest me.... What to do?

Thanks.

Hello All,
Thank you for our prompt answers. Further to this issue, can anyone help me with the format of the application letter to be written to the HR asking for the Salary certificate?
I know this sounds very childish, but the HR has REJECTED my application thrice.
