Dear Seniors,
I work in an IT farm as HR Manager. I have just started working here. There is no structured policy of HR. The top management desires to develop this department. I can understand I will get enough scope to develop and work here. Employee is 150+. I have already prepared HR policy and procedure. Please give me some suggestions so that I can handle this department. I have completed my masters in English Literature and MBA on HRM. I have experience 4 years on this department. How can I go ahead step by step.
Thanks
Kamrul

Dear Kamrul8816,
Welcome to Cite HR.
You said that there is no HR policy and later you have also
mentioned that you have made the HR Policy and procedure.
You have also asked suggestion for running the HR department.
It is all a bit confusing.
Please search Cite HR archives for a standard HR Manual.
Read whatever is of your interest and then please post specific questions
so that members can answer your queries.

HR policy will be based on various laws affecting /applicable to the organisation.
This can have state to state variations.
Archives in this educative forum will give lot of ideas, material which every HR person can use/adopt for his organisation.
As rightly stated by a learned member circulate the draft document to all HOD and top management and your office legal consultant.
How was the office running so far without laid down policies of HR?
How old is your organisation?

Thanks for your suggestions which were also working in my mind. I could understand while preparing HR policy and procedure that nothing is constant. It may be changed and modified time to time. Your opinion makes it sure. Thanks again.

Dear Nathrao,
Thanks for you opinions. Actually it was not running constructive way as per HRM. HR activities were confined in recruitment, selection and leave management but not in proper way. It is an eight years old organization but last two years, its business growth is tremendous and employee strength is getting rich day by day. At the same time, employee separation is increasing day by day. Now the organization feels that complete hr policies, practice of HRM should be.
