Default No MAN is an Island!!! Challenges of HR

ˇ§No Man is an Islandˇ¨

And so it is with disciplines, each of which are the outcomes of interrelated thoughts and opinions. Traditionally the corporate world has Human Resource Management seen as Cost Centre and Support function. But now, the things have changed, Organisations are looking towards HR for Strategic support, problem solving and a new wave are emerging that of HUMAN RESOURCE: INTEGRATED

In our Company, we are taking this initiative of Transformation of Human Resource function. The Challenges that are lined up for us in the coming months are:

„« Acquiring key Talent: With the expansion plan in full swing the HR department has to look out for new ways and methods of acquiring new talents. We would include Senior Managers, Line Managers and employees in formulating strategies for Managing the Human Capital.

„« Retaining Key Talent: Creating a talent pool is another challenge that HR has to take care of integration with other functional heads. We will provide well designed programs, processes, tools and information to manage Human Capital functions, including Recruitment, Performance Management, Career Development among others.

„« Career Planning: The talented lot will be shown a career path to follow in the organization, which may require job rotations, cross functional movements and providing benefits and other facilities.

„« Increasing Line Manager/ Functional Headsˇ¦ capability to handle people management responsibilities: This is another key area where the transformation will take place, as we believe that People Management is a key function for Line Managers/ Functional Heads.

„« Building Leadership capability: With the onset of Trainings and Development program, this area also will require a lot of attention in coming few months. Building or developing Leadership capabilities is of importance so that succession planning may also happen in the organization, with the expansion of company

„« Training and Development: We believe in developing the Human Capital, not only for having high returns on our investment but also for their personal development, so that they become alumni of Sara Group.

„« Changing with time: As the advancement is there all around the world we would surely be changing systems and processes to get the best out of our people. The key factors like Transparent and Open communication of why changes are handled with care.

As HR continues to transform itself, we all play a vital role in integrating HR function with overall operations of Organisation.

Best Regards,

Archna

Very Nice to know!

Personally I have always thought that that is the way to go.

I have also seen that companies when they are small/start- ups, they believe in this. But as they grow, it becomes difficult and they fall back on traditional methods.

It would be path breaking if a big company can do it!

Thank you all of you for reading and appreciating these efforts. Actually this time it was a deliberate effort from my side to join a comparatively small company, so that the changes can be made with lot of freedom.

Thanks for the mails.

Best Rgrds,

Archna
