Approach your regional ESIC office with your family members to get a permanent ID card.
Even though you have expired TIC, they will give you medical treatment in Dispensaries. They are not demanding for permanent card in most of the dispensaries. But better is to get permanent card to avail benefits without hassles.

1.Sir, Permanent Identity Card( Pehchan Card) including family card is essential for claiming any facilities from any medical institutions of ESIC. There are no instructions issued by ESIC on the issue that without presenting his Pehchan Card, the insured person will be taken care in medical institutions of ESIC.

2. In case the TIC has expired, the insured person should immediately contact the appropriate Branch Office of ESIC to which the said unit is attached for extending the eligibility of said worker for another spell of period depending upon their instructions or rules.

3. Further the Regional/Sub/Divisional Office of ESIC has nothing to do with the preparation or providing of Permanent Identity Card to insured persons or their family members. Such functions of preparation of Identity Card or family Identity Cards are the subject matter of Branch Offices only. Further the Regional/Sub./Divisional Offices of ESIC are located at a long distance from the area and it is not convenient for any worker or his family to visit such a long distance for the work for which it is not an appropriate office.

4. I will request Sh. Stephen_7, who recorded above remarks to kindly place on record the copies of instructions issued by ESIC in support of his remarks as mentioned above so that I may also be able to up-date my knowledge accordingly. I personally feel that there is no justification, especially in this esteemed citeHR to record advice to a vast network of its customers/members which are not legally correct and not based on any documentary evidence.

this was happened to one of our employee. he didn't take permanent id card for more than a year. he went and complained to regional office just like that the treatment was not given to him for not having permanent id card. they have immediately responded that dispensary never refuse to provide treatment for not having permanent id card. they have asked for date and time member went to dispensary to enquire. but he could not provide the same.

then employee went to dispensary and took treatment availed sick leave benefits.

as per rule they have to approach regional office with family members to get permanent id card immediately. but they may have been directed to provide the treatment to members even though they don't have permanent card.

so I have been providing the information based on the practical experience to not panic. acts can be read by downloading it in internet. it is not required to discuss here.

anyone have been rejected by dispensary when approached with expired tic card?
