Dear Seniors,
I need your help to draft the "Coffee with HR" activity.  Basically this is similar to Coffee with Karan :D :D concept wherein we can invite two employees and can ask some question. :x :x But actually i am stuck for "some questions".    i need your help in terms of draft, like what all questions should be asked to employees so that the activity become more interesting rather than an usual HR meetings.
Kindly send me some ways or questions which can help me to carry out this activity efficiently.
If you have already done this in your company kindly send me a draft on or on
Thanks,
Payal :P

U mean trouble them :? :? :?

what do the employees want to do with coffee, u can have coffee with them, but if you ask some job related question, would not they think twice before answering since ur A HR ,,

So instead why not ask questions like what are ur future plans and how can I help to achieve them, if he wants to do something, help them do it.

i think this concept is too much,, let the employees work , give a decent environment, and develop them DONT UNNECESSARY POKE INTO EMPLOYEES THINKING AND TRy TO CHANgE EACH AND EVERY EMPLOYEE , DO THIS ONLY IF THEY TELL U SOMETHING <,, AND IF U CAN DO IT,, FOR EG; IN A MEETING EMPLOYEES ASK FOR A PARTICULAR SERVICE,, AND HR TELLS IT NEEDS TO THINK ON IT,, AND DISCUSS WITH MANAGEMENT ETC...

THEN EMPLOYEE THINKS WHY UR ASKING ME???

GIVE THEM SOME PRIVACY,, just because ur paying them does not mean u do this coffee and all sort of things.

Hi Payal,
This is good idea. I liked it very much, creative. Now how to action your thought...... Coffee with HR can be used as a forum to showcase the best employees. The goal should be " Every employee eager to find a spot at Coffee with HR". If you can use technology and implement coffee with HR through webinars it would be great.
Topics can contribute to Senior Leaders, your employees who have done remarkable things in sports, social activities etc., bring them to limelight.
This needs to be an informal interview format. Make it a monthly or a fortnight depending on the supply / demand.
Use proper branding and promotions to make this activity a success. And surely have the senior managements buy-in.
All the best.
Melvin.

Hey I have a few suggestions......Instead of calling it coffee with HR you can call it "Let's talk about you".
1. What interests you?
2.What motivates you?
3.What are your short term goals?
4.What are your long term plans?
5. Are you enriching your personal profile in this company?
6.Is your manager supportive enough?
7.How is your relationship with your peers?
Hope this helps...
Cheers,
Mallet

Hi,
This is Satheesh.
This is a very good forum for personal interaction with employees. We use to conduct this program every month in my earlier company and we call it Tea Talk. This Tea Talk will be conducted either in our conference Room ( big and lovely facility ) or in some near by club or resort.
It used to be a very friendly programm in which we were inviting group of people of separate department each time with HR and Top management.
We can not say is as an official forum. It is a sort of inter and intra personal discussion along with likes, dislikes, dos and don'ts, suggestions etc.
No boss and subordinates, its only friends forum.
Its really good to have such programs in larger organizations in order to have top management interaction with all layers of people in industry.

Hi Payal,
Rather than asking general questions it would be a good idea to customise it based on who the two guests are. So it would be important to prepare well before each episode of "Coffee with HR". It would be great if the questions are relevant to the individual so doing a little research about the guests in advance will help.
However some General questions that may be asked (which you can of course customise) are:
- What was your dream or ambition as a child?
- How did you enter this field?
- What are the biggest challenges you have faced? How did you overcome them?
- Do you have a role model? Who is it?
- How do you balance you work and personal life? Are they balanced right now? Is it important to have a perfect balance?
- What's gives more learning, education or work experience?
- What do you think about our work culture? How can we enhance it?

David

- How do you balance you work and personal life? Are they balanced right now? Is it important to have a perfect balance?

- What's gives more learning, education or work experience?

- What do you think about our work culture? How can we enhance it?

- What do you like most about our company?

- What do you not like about our company? What should/can we do about it?

These questions should be used as fillers. It is not necessary to ask too many questions if there is a good flow in the discussion. Ask the next question when you've finished with a topic and no one has anything to add.

You can create a quiz based on questions about the company and industry, as well as current affairs, entertainment, etc. and give the winner a gift hamper.

Regards,

David
