Re: How to read government pay scale
hi shakeela,

you pay scale under reference is
4000-100(3)-4300-125(3)-4675-150(3)-5125-175(3)-5650-200(3)-6250

This scale may be applicable to various employees having different basic.
It says that the employees falling in this scale will have starting basic as 4000 with annual increment of amount given next to it. The figure in bracket shows the number of years that increment amount will be given. after that it reaches next slab staring with different increment amount will will continue till the number of years shown in consecutive bracket.

So an employee starting from this scale will have basic of 4000 where as some other employee in the same scale but 6 years senior to him will have basic of 4675.

Dear Sir,

This belongs only to the basic, what about the other allowances?

For Example,
I need to fix a pay scale to a Driver for his remaining service, who is earing 7000/- gross P.M. with 60% basic and other 40% as allowance. Kindly Advice...

Regards,

Madhan.

There are separate circulars each for DA, ADA, HRA, Med.A etc. etc.
As per his/her eligibility these will be applicable which are not stated in the pay scale.
