Dear All,
I need urgent help with regard to the contract employee card. Right now we have employee contract cards only with numbers. Now the problem is our manager wants a photo card for contract (With "contract" written on the card) employees who have been hired from the third party organisation or partner organisation. As a matter of fact I know that it is illegal to give them photo ID cards of our organisation as they belong to a different company. Can anyone help me find out under which law this is applicable.
Regards,
Simmi

Hi Simmi...
If you have taken "specific" employees on contract though they are being paid salary by some other company... You can issue a Photo ID Card for your own security/adminstration purpose with clear mention on the ID Card that it is valid only for the said company
But the best bet in any case would be to ask your contractor to provide Photo ID cards with your specifications.... while you can provide normal "contractor" access cards to them...

positive identification is a must if you check out C-TPAT. however the thing is not all contractor staff are on official payrolls, you may have a serious issue later.

since the contract workmen are from third party hence it wil create a big trouble in providing the photo id cards. better ask the contractor to provide photo based id card for his labours which can help us also for proper ideantaification.

Today this issue is also becoming necessary due to global compliance but you can not issue them card in your company name.
As in our company we have issued the card to contract employees with the clearly mentioned the contractor name.
If you will issue I card in ur company name later any employee can prove the employemnt with ur company.
Thanks,
