Salary calculation - what should be the base?
Hi we are a startup it firm in gujarat. we are framing our hr policies when one question came up...what is the base for calculating the number of days attended? i read somewhere that we should calculate the salary based on 26/30 days irrespective of what month it is. but in that case please clear the following scenario. month july 2014 4 sundays 1 holiday eid person x took 1 lwp if we take 30 base days worked 25 weekly off 4 holiday 1 lwp 1 31 days. so how do we calculate based on 30 days?? or do we keep on varying it to 3031 based on the month?? but then the salary per day will keep on varying... awaiting your valuable inputs.

Hi friends can any one give me the following queries explanation 1 if a employee has joined in nov. 00 and he has left the job in july 05 if i calculate his entire period of service it comes to 4 yrs. and 9 months query : he this employee eligible for gratuity ? in the increment letter company had mentioned that after 4 yrs of his service he is eligible for 30 days gratuity query : do i have to give the 30 days or as per the act i can give only on 15 days ? if i have to give on 30 days then do i have to considered earlier 4 yrs also in 30 days ? the employee is in staff cadre and we are paying monthly salary for 30 days query : at the time of gratuity calculation how do i calculate ? on 30 days or 26 days ? what does the law says on this issue ? thanks in advanced prashant

Hello there in our company we calculate salary based on number of days in a month 28 30 31 the no.of days of that month let s say employee salary is 30000 per month salary month is june 30 days and employee worked without taking any leave for that month excluding sundays and public holidays final salary 30000/30 no.of working days let s assume in june there are 5 sundays and 1 public holiday do we need to include the sundays and other public holidays in "no.of working days" or exclude from the total no.of days 30 days no.of working days 30 or ? no.of working days 24 ? final salary 30000/30 30 ? final salary 30000/30 24 ? please clarify thanks in advance :
