dear hr(s),

im john, i have attended an "ON- CAMPUS" interview in my college. the eligibility criteria set by the company was "70% until 7th semester". we have given original marksheets until the 6th semester, in which i have secured "70.23%"".even though the results were announced for the 7th semester and i have got "69.12%", since i didnt receive marksheets, i didnt consider it and attended the campus. during the interview when hr asked about the percentage, i said that since i have marksheets only until 6th semester i have given that percentage and i dont know about the 7th sem percentage. the interview was over and fortunately i got selected in that company.

Now i feeling guilty that i have made a mistake. and i also feel that i dont want to miss this MNC company. im in dead fear whether after joining, if they found about this, they may send me back home.

Since i know that this site is viewed by many experienced and good hearted HR's, i put forth my problem in front of you. what is the solution to my problem..???

some of my seniors who work in other corporates says that, once if company selects a new employee, companies wont be looking for Percentages, and Talent and skills is what they prefer...??

now im in the state of cat on the wall...whether i will lose the job ??

please post your views, ideas and suggestions related to my problem....

thanks in advance,

john

Dear John,
Please tell the HR now itself that you have got the mark sheet and the marks you got is 69.12. It's far better to be honest and not lose sleep over that. Otherwise, the fear of being caught will bother you.

Dear John,
Call up the company HR and tell them the marks that you have received. Also explain them that you wanted the same to be know to the company before hand to sort out all things before hand.
Most companies will appreciate the gesture.

What you have said is bordering on a "White lie". The worst that can happen is that they take back the offer. However, your conscience will be clear and you can sleep with ease. It's worth taking the risk.

Dear John,
Normally the eligibility criteria will be aggregate percentage. If the Co.,`s criteria is 70%, i.e. aggregate of all semsters. Please study hard and secure
more % in 8th sem, so that your aggregate percentage will shoot up. Before they send you the offer letter, lot of formalities will be there
where in have to provide lot of information along with your marks of all 8 sems. You dont have to bother if your aggregate of 8 semsters is more than
70%. You have not cheated them. You don`t have to feel guilty. Even After selection some companies don`t send the offer letters to all selected candidates for various reasons.
Good Luck. Hope you will do best in 8th sem get the offer letter.

Rathna
