Hello
As per your query, if the employee has joined and in is probation..then 4 days would be deducted. But if there is any policy of leave in probation period also.. then you may consider the leave.
On the other hand, if the employee is confirmed then he would have leave balance... so no deduction
But it depends on Company policy.
Also confirm whether the leave was approved by the management....

Dear Harjeet :
CTC is drawn to get idea about cost to the company.
But when salary deduction in lieu of leave is calculated it is always based on monthly salary before deduction of PF/ESIC/PT etc.
For e.g. if a person's CTC is 1L/A and monthly gross salary is Rs. 6000/-. Then salary for 1 day is calculated based on 6000 - No.of day's in the month. and based on this 1 day salary rest is calculated.
For giving him leave for 4 days, as Roshani said it is totally based on company's policy.
If you have any further query, feel free to ask.
Regards,

CTC is related to Gross salary. Basic pay and admissible allowances are part of the CTC. From your question it appears the person is a new entrant, and he has not earned any leave. Then the calculate the basic pay for 26days ( if it is 30days- months ) or 27 days (31 days- month) and allow the admissible allowance accordingly.
