what you want to ask? Salary is based on the qualification, experience, type of Industry, etc. Without furnishing the details, you are simply asking good or bad which no one can answer. Pon, Chennai

Dear Revanayya :
Salary is decided based on many factors for freshers for e.g. Education, knowledge, Company's start up grade, training cost incurred etc.
This will be different for all companies, for some more or for some less.
It is more important what you feel than what we feel.
If you feel it is good then it is good. If you don't feel, search for new job.
Regards,

Dear friend,
From your question it appears, after ascertaining the salary structure, you have joined the present job. Please cheer up, in Bangalore, MA,M.Com,Phd.candidates are working as clerks,Auto Drivers, and waiters in restaurants. Candidates with B.E (E&C),(IT) have been appointed on consolidated salary of Rs.10000/- without any assurance of further hike or confirmation and absorption in to the regular roll. In KSRTC Bangalore, the Drivers and conductors are initially appointed on a contract basis on consolidated pay of Rs.5000/- and will be absorbed in to main stream at the minimum of the time scale after satisfactory service during the contract period. Please compare your position, you are placed above them and drawing salary in prescribed scale. Be happy, you will see good days. If you feel you are not getting the salary as you wished, quit the job and find a good placement.

Your Employer is playing with labour law, Your minimum salary is less then the daily wage labour or in other word its less then daily Majdoor. please check the list of minimum wages in different states..
This is all because people are not aware of labour rights and law and getting exploited. minimum wage is not less then rs.180 per day in any state, so it comes to 5400 (Basic).per month
The politics behind giving less Basic salary is to save there Tex on PFand ESI as it calculated on Basic salary.
Sorry if it feel bad but its true.

@Revanayya, Being a fresher you are getting a decent salary, but I will highly suggest you at initial stage of career one should not be so focused for salary part, he/she should be more focused to learning part, because a good learning will later turn into good remuneration. All the best !
@ Chauhan, In any state Minimum wages is defined on Basic+DA, here in the salary structure provided by revanayya is, Basic = 2950, DA = 4720, Basic+DA = 2950+4720 = 7670, which is as per the minimum wages act applicable in Karnataka.
I highly request you not to share wrong information as this may result in someone's lack of interest in his/her current employment, even correct your understanding on minimum wages and on calculation of PF,ESI as well, as Minimum wages varies from state to state and PF is calculated on Basic+DA, and ESI is on Gross salary.

Ashutosh
