Hi,
I have made investment in my PPF account on the last day of the fiscal year i.e. 31st March 2013. As a result I was not able to show the same during the declaration filed in the month of February to the company I work with. So the Form 16 that I have received does not reflect my contribution to PPF account.
Now the issue is how do I show my proof of this investment during ITR filing? I didn\'t find any place where I can upload the scanned page of the PPF passbook.
2nd Issue:
I have also made a donation under 80G. Though during e-filing of ITR a different segment asks to input all the details, again I did\'t find anyplace to upload the receipt image.
Please advice.
Thanks,
Shom

Hi,
You need not to attach any scan copies of the documents alongwith your IT Return while filing the same online or while submitting it to the dept.
For PPF : You need to declare that amount u/s. 80 C and claim the deduction in your IT Return.
For Donation : in same manner as in PPF, you need to input the details of donation made, amount, date and Pan No.of the receiver of the donor.

I think in e-filing there is no necessity to give scanned copies of savings you have made. If Income Tax authorities decide to check your returns they will send a notice and then you can prove your savings and the claim you have made for the same.

You don't worry. If any deduction left out while giving declaration to Employer, you can claim it in your ITR. Whatever income and deductions which are not considered in Declaration, are must be considered while filing ITR. Even Tax Free income is also is required to be mentioned in ITR from current year.
You can take advice / consultation from your nearer CA / Tax consultant if required.

The proofs of your F-16, investments (eg PF), donations etc are to be sent along with the ITR is to be submitted to IT Dept, CPC, PB No - 1, Electronic City PO, Bangaluru-560100 through ordinary post within 120 days of the e-filling. While the TDS will be reconciled with the TRACES with the F-16s, the proofs of investment / donations with be reconciled between your exemptions sought under Sec-80C / 80G and the proofs furnished.
