Hello everyone,
We are Mumbai based company and have employees in Delhi, Bangalore & Chennai. If an employee in Chennai wants to apply for ESIC card, what is the procedure? Visit Chennai ESIC office and use ESIC number registered with Mumbai ESIC?
Please share your valuable thoughts. Thanks.
Tarun.

Dear Tarungags,
If your company has an employer esic user id then you can register and create employees IP number and send all eligible employees declaration form, TIC(Temporary Identity Card) forms and Medical Form with Companie's stamp and authorized signature. then told them to go nearby esi branch for a photo session with their family and collect esic cards from the same branch within three months. It is long proses but valuable.
Thanks and Regards

Dear Sir,
I agree with your query, but it wasn't Tarungags quarry and i think he wants solution only for esic eligible employees those are located out of Mumbai. If the employees' are working in non implemented/covered esi area then he is eligible for the same facility like other employees( those salaries more than 15k). It's easy to find out the non covered area, when you register with esic that time you will receive esic covered area' list, every area's log in id and password from esic officer. Most important if you don't have that specific area's log in id than you can't create employees IP no., e.g in Maharashtra Nanded is not covered in esic.
Thanks and Regards

Dear Mahendra,
Thanks for your clarification.
Suppose there are less than 10/20 employees who are working in out of mumbai then they need to create subcode of ESI which will be provided to them only when they comply with minimum count as per ESI. If not I don't think ESI will give them Subcode. And for subcode also Organization should maintain all the records related to ESI.Which for less number of employee organization will try to avoid. What do you say ?

You should apply for ESIC registration at Mumbai itself and declare the address of such out station employees. They will be required to go to their nearest ESIC office in their respective states to complete the registration formalities to become IP and be eligjble to avail benefits. It is presumed that such employees are below 15k salary and not in remote areas where ESIS coverage is not yet done.

Dear Tarun,
For ESIC - you have to register with ESIC in Mumbai and need to register with ESIC for sub-code in Chennai then register your employee in Chennai esic subcode and employee will take benefit of esi in chennai otherwise benefit will get from mumbai esi only not in chennai. If your employees are already registered in Mumbai ESIC, no problem , you need to take subcode from chennai esic and re-register them with cheenai esic, their contribution will reflect in chennai esic then they will get benefit from chenai esic only. if you have any type of help write me.

Dear Tarun,
You have to apply for separate sub-code for each state and then apply for smart card.
However, in case you have transferred any staff to any of these branches, who were covered under ESIC in Mumbai, then you will have to apply to your Mumbai ESIC local office, giving them the details of the SUB-CODE taken, requesting them to transfer the data of these staff members to the new sub-code taken.
