hi
Could i get how to get the PT registration for different states. We are head quartered in Bangalore and have people deputed in different parts of India. We deducted and paid the PT as per Bangalore slab for all the employees no matter where they were posted until jan 2013.Later through citehr realised that we were wrong, each states have different slab and also employees land up paying more. Could you please help with the procedure of getting registered in other states or even if there were any consultants who help us do it.
We need to get this done ASAP as since jan the remittance is pending.
thanks and regard
Shany Jalal

Dear Shany ji,
Registration / enrollment under PTax in every State wherever it is applicable as per State Law, you need to handle it carefully. Your liability start from the date you start your business activity in such state. You can not take the stand that you paid the Tax in Banglore in respect of employees working in other states.

Dear Mr. Korgaonkar
yes i'm trying to get the registration in the respective states, just figuring out means of doing the same. However i wanted to confirm if they were on deputation in my clients place still do they have to have their PT for the respective states.
@Mr Dilip thank you.

Dear Shany ji,
I use to take same stand earlier. Even I use to take a stand that the employees are subjected to HQ's rules and service conditions. We make compliance as per HQ. But this contention is not accepted. Logic is - you are working in my State, you pay Tax to me.
However, tenure of work is very short, just ignore the registration and skip.
