Dear all,

I wish to know the format of termination of service for my staff. He has been offered for a fixed term of six months contact. His contract will going to end by next month. Our company do not wish to continue his contract so i need to serve a letter of termination of service.

Please tell me how to write the letter i need it as soon as possible. Thank you.

Please refer appointment letter dated ------ for the fixed term appoint for the position of -------in our organisation. It is due to work exigencies in our organisation we could not extend your services beyond the fixed term referred in your appoint letter dated above. Your services are coming to an end on-----------------. Hence, you are advised to contract accounts department during working hours for your full and final settlement if any.

As his contract is going to get over next month, it must be specified in contract that unless extended in writing ,, this contract is termed as ended. so there is no special need to give any termination letter. You can verbally keep telling the employee that he better look out for some other opportunity as his period is going to end by this month and we would not be able to extend his period. Termination entirely has a different meaning. So Termination letter does not come at all in your scenario.

Nothing needs to be done further and you need not to give him any termination letter. It will terminate automatically by flux of time. At the best you may think of informing him in advance saying that as per terms of the appointment his tenure will expire on so and so date.I presume that the date of the commencement of employment must have been mentiond in the said appointment letter. Six months have to be computed from that date.
