Dear sir/Madam,,,
I have joined 3 months ago as HR executive...
I am doing recruitment and i am not getting the right candidate....
As candidates are leaving the job, or we have to throw out as they are not performing well...
As a human, i have feelings, and i am not able to say no to any candidate to leave the job...
My boss says i am failure as HR...
And now i am also getting feeling that i am failure,,,,
Thinking to leave this HR field, but i want to be HR person....
Right now i am very bad state of mind....
Can anyone help me out?

Are u in insurance or financial sector? if so then leave but dnt leave HR Feild as its very fascinating challanging field . U change it and join FMCG FMCD Manufacturing or even service sector and then u will see the world of HR. Recruitment is not a HR job in todays world as I feel being a HR Professional.

Thanks for your reply....
And i am in the IT field...
And i am only the 1st HR in the company...
They are bringing the whole HR system, but only on papers...
Daily, I come to office and seat and go home....
Thats all i do here....
As i am fresher, don;t have any knowledge about practical HR....

Hi Ankur,
1. Don't feel bad, I agree with ABC that HR Profile is fascinating challenging field, just because your Boss said that your are failure that doesn't mean that your Failure...
2. Always understand HR should know Diplomatic skills ( this is very important), you should be able to handle the situations, i agree that you are just 3 months into this profile but Corporate World would not accept it.
3. DON'T EVER GIVE UP , ALWAYS HAVE CHALLENGING SPIRIT.

I also agree with deepak and this is wrong statement which is gave by ABC that recruitment is not a job of HR.According to my knowledge this is challenging tasks and also like Walking in a garden .....................which is full of big and dangerous Daynasores bt u achive yours goal as well as save yourself to use urs skills and capabilities.
One more thing is that don't be demotivate yourself.

Dear Dev,
I am trying to not get demotivate myself....
And to find out the psychology of candidates when they appear for interview will come with experience....
Because in schools and colleges, noone taught about it....
And it will come with experience....
It will not come in 3 months experience of corporate world...
Atleast this much to everyone can understand...
I will also learn and will get experience...

Dear Ankur,
I am sorry to hear about your story.
You surely can feel bad about it. If it happens to anyone then he will feel demotivated and low.
Would you like to take responsibility of your situation and see how you can turn around the situation?
Here’s what I would recommend:
a) Talk to your boss and ask him how he can guide you to be a success.
b) Ask a mentor or senior person in your organization about your situation.
c) Get a coaching session on your work from someone who is good at his work.
d) See how you can improve your work.
Alternatively,
a) Circulate your resume and look out for a new job.
b) Talk to the people you know and see if there is a job you can hold on to.
I would suggest you to read ‘Unlimited Power’ by Anthony Robbins and watch any Sandeep Maheshwary video available on you tube to motivate yourself. Call me if you need more guidance.
If this is tough time… you be tougher than that.

Hi Ankur,

You say you are a fresher.... does your boss know this?

If so, then understand that it is your boss who is the real failure.

Why did he hire you (as a fresher) and then throw you in the deep end, particularly when you are the only one in HR?

So what do you do next?

Whilst I do not know how far the down line you have gone and it may be prudent to leave the company... but not the industry:

I would suggest you give one more go, (at least then you will know you gave it your best shot) to do this I would advise:

Have a meeting with the boss,

TELL him how you feel;

TELL him that you appreciate the risk that he took by hiring you.

TELL him that you do not wish to let him down

TELL him that you need some guidance and that you TRUST him to provide that.

TELL him how you are going to improve, (by trawling this site and reading the questions and answers and by using the RESEARCH facility, is a good start)

In other words get him on your side so that he will Help you and not Hinder you.

But before you do anything else, get into a positive frame of mind; go to the gym or a good fast run and get all your frustrations out of your system.

Always remember YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE !!!! Just inexperienced and that you are going to get better and better at your job.

Take up my challenge Ankur prove your boss wrong.

I have said before and i will say it again - Sometimes you have to EDUCATE the boss.

please please do not underestimate yourself

u are lucky ur boss has told you u r unfit as HR once

i have been told this since 1960 when i joined my first job ,

this is part of the job.and daily routine of a boss . i have 53 years of experience . it may happen due to any reason but it should not be due to lack of knowledge or dedication to work OR NOT DELIVERING RESULTS

i am putting across an important lesson i learnt from a military Sargent major.

first cool .cool. dont forget u are a fresher . even so called top corporate executives struggle when it comes to dealing with people AND ASSESSING THEM IN INTERVIEWS . i have taken over 1000 interviews in my career as an interviewer .

if u are not getting good material take other's help. search for more . keep on searching . . contact us we will get u good very good staff.

your pay scales and perks may need review

firstly IMPROVE ON YOUR ATTITUDE.secondly LEARN TO DELIVER RESULTS thirdly

A QUITTER NEVER WINS AND A WINNER NEVER QUITS

dont sit in the office and do nothing as you are saying. not very far they will thank you and get someone else

always work towards the organisation goal and achieve it.
