Myself Lavika, working as a HR Executive in a very well known broking Company. My profile is 70% recruitment and 30 % Generalist.I have done EMBA from distance learning mode with 87% score.I think distance learning is a draw back when you go for higher profiles as regular students are preferred for the same. Thus I want to enhance my qualification and skills so that It will be an addition to my profile. Can you suggest some courses and diploma courses which will enhance my qualification and CV.

Hello Lavika
When you have right skills and knowledge, the tag of distance education does not affect your career prospects since an employer will prefer some one with distance MBA who can start bulding blocks straight away when he supplies bricks and mortar rather than the one with a regular MBA who rushes to the library to pick a book to know what is to be done whenhe is given bricks and mortar by the employer. Therefore take initiative and focus on learning skills since talent is a scarce quality in the market which employers are vying to own. Nevertheless, try to do a short certification course in HR-generalist profile or talent mangement or tarining and development etc and also qcquire proficiency in EXCEL skills. They come handy. Good Luck.

Education is nothing but obtaining the skills that are necessary for a person to lead a good life in this world. officially it is necessary because it reflect on one's efficiency, mental capacity and efficiency. There must be some proof of having obtained that skill which is a certificate. it is true that some companies give preference to the degree certificates obtained from through regular colleges. But your performance is judged by how you do in the interview.

There are number of opportunities for a person to enhance his knowldege by taking various courses. especially it is cheaper in almost all the universities that conduct the corres courses. General MBA with specialisation in HR will be a good one for you. Number of Universities conduct Post Graduate degrees and Diplomas in HR which are recognised by most of the companies. Master of Labour studies conducted by Madurai Kamaraj univ is good as that is the highest degree in labour law. Combined with MBA your future will be bright with these qualifications. Once you get experience in HR it will be possible for you to get into the height of the ladder as you will be considered as a hot cake. Do not consider only the salary package initially and once you gain experience then automatically you will be paid a higher salary pakcage. All the very best.
