Hi Psharma,
Salary structure differ from company to company. Its upto company to decide thier salary structure so that their employees can be benifitted more.
For your first question my answe is yes it can be said correct salary structure. but they have not mentioned other perquisite items so you will not get much benifit for tax purpose (but not to worry about tax you are under tax bracket)
Now for second question my answer is minimum wages applicable to workmen (Skille/Semiskilled/Unskilled/Clerk) so I dont think that you come under workmen so minimum wages are not applicable to you.

Hi, Psharma,
its s desputable question, but here what court will see is, how much aggregate wages you are getting ?.
In your case aggregate wages you get monthly are more than your minimum wages so their is no question of minimum wages.
But important is because of this your PF contribution on 1100 is going less (6500-5400) so for this purpose you can meet HR and tell them to bring your basic to max limit of Rs. 6500 so that you can gain the benifit.

This is in response to the query about minimum wages raised by P Sharma.
As has been brought out above, the minimum wages (Basic+VDA) of a semi skilled worker in Delhi is Rs 8,008/- per month as on date.
The company is paying only Rs 5,400/- as Basic + VDA which is incorrect.
By reducing the Basic +VDA the company is gaining on 'Employer's share' of EPF as has also been brought out above.
Presuming that you approach the HR Manager, what proposal would you give? The Company may not like to increase your CTC much while following the statutory compliance of minimum wages. In that case you may propose-
Basic +VDA f the Company follows the norms and gives Rs 8,008/- as the Basic+VDA, it will have to shell out
