Dear seniors,
The idea of publishing Monthly HR/IR Magazine from CiteHR which has been provided by Mr. S. Bhaskar was awesome. The link has been given below for your reference. As I’m new to this cite so Kindly let me know if the idea has been implemented.
Thank you
With regards

Hello Mimu,
It's thoughtful of you to revive the 2009 Posting by S. Bhaskar.
Maybe it was pretty early then for such an idea to take shape, but could be the right time NOW?
However, rather than for going for it in the print format, e-magazine format should be, both, cost-effective & practically feasible I guess.
One advantage for CiteHR to go for this would definitely be the vast repertoire of case-studies & real-time situations that get discussed in this Forum--which can be made a part of the e-magazine. This would surely be a USP, which other magazines would find tough to beat.
Food for thought for the Moderators......including working-out the financials too.

Hi Sateesh,
The idea has been batted around since the beginning - we wanted to create a journal from the case studies discussed here but unfortunately we could never find a person who could formulate the whole idea.
This requires someone with experience in the publishing industry - if you or anyone knows anyone who would be interested in working on this, we have a job for him.

That's a pretty fast response Sid.
Can you give more details of the type of person you would be keen on--sort of JD, so to say? I am sure many members would be able to be on the look-out.

I'm not good with job descriptions but here goes:

The applicants need to have a flair in writing with some publishing industry experience. Age, qualifications are no bar but they need to be good at what they do.

1. Review, participate, collect case study worthy ongoing discussions and create a journal entry with the facts and details.

2. Research outside sources to bring important information into the discussion to improve the quality.

3. Follow up with members and invite important members into the discussion.

4. Create complete case study entry.

Would be required to create 3-4 case studies per week based on discussions and findings. The final journal document will be released as they are created.

Renumeration - as per experience - will be probably lower than corporate jobs but with other benefits.

Benefits:

No work schedule - for our team the term "work" doesn't exist - this is what we do, what we are.

We don't micro manage projects - you will be responsible solely to be part of the community and work towards improving various aspects of it.

Work from home or anywhere - we don't even have an office - our team works from home, from various locations in the country - true next generation job.

“How one person can change the world but can put forward the ideas” we all are working under a team in our professional life even on this place (CiteHR) to make our mission successful. we all are seeking each other’s help/guidance/support and contribution of our members and their sincere participation, therefore, how can we look for only one person who could formulate the whole idea of publishing our own HR Magazine.

Well in my understanding what we need to work for our (CiteHR’s) own HR Magazine, is to have a dedicated team of professionals/researchers first.

-A Team, consisting of researchers/industry professionals/ seniors members who are constantly engages in the professional events/seminar/summit to share their experience and understanding in a compile format.

(like the participation and involvement of Ms (Cite Contribution) - <link no longer exists - removed> | | http://www.citehr.com/423496-learnin...-b-school.html and many. She always comes with great learning and experience that I believe works for many of us and says itself a lot to us.

-A Team of member who are interested in participating in this work and are ready to share their knowledge, experience and time to make this possible.

-Dedicated member who are professionals, are active with great contribution on professional terms and are from industry directly, are participating in ongoing discussions on various topics/functions of HR,

-Members who are counselor/professor/mentor ,research students to contribute with their research experience and case studies to discuss and collect the key points in this regard

-HR Generalists with grasped industry knowledge and experience who can formulate or write articles on latest and trendy topics straight from the HR world and Development,

And as Mr Sid/ Mr TajSateesh stated above

- who follow up with members and invite important members into the discussion based on real-time situations and create complete case study entry which can be made a part of the e-magazine

We need a Team actually to frame this whole idea and yes ofcourse, we need experienced professional people from publishing industry too that would be a great help to make this possible.

Thanks to Mimu for reminding us this important topic and to discuss.

Well I have some people in my knowledge and contacts who are from publishing industry and going to speak to them. Rest all going to email you Mr Sid with the complete details.

Request to CHR : Can we put that mission on our Home Page or “Notice Board” Mr Sid, so that, we can invite the members who are interested and like to share their experience and knowledge in this regard. I believe this would be the best idea to pass this mission (CiteHR -Magazine) around to grab the attention of interested members.

Hello (Cite Contribution),
Your mention of ".....neither involves any Superstars and Celebs , but people who remain largely unrecognised" gives me the idea of coining the banner for this: Of the Aam HR People, By the Aam HR People & For the Aam HR People....kidding :-)
Coming to your mention of the cost of printing, that was the reason I suggested going for a e-magazine version rather than the printed one. Even if a single copy is printed, it costs more than the e-version. And in printing, there's also a breakeven point [Minimum # of copies], below which it isn't cost-effective to go for it at all.
There's one aspect that MAY need to be handled/covered in this effort though--wasn't mentioned so far: the IPR issues, of which there are quite a few possibilities.

Hi (Cite Contribution),
I think we'll just keep it an e-magazine - rather entries into the "Industry Insights" sub section. That would create more value in that section and would justify the cost of having a dedicated person create the properly written case studies.
Yes, it would be a great idea to include the special projects shared by members into the "Industry Insights" - best would be to have a panel consisting of the senior members, who would decide what goes into that special section.
Senior members, moderators will have free access to this section. If someone progresses to become a senior member or moderator - he/she will then have free access and the paid subscription would be removed.

Sid
