Contractor's esi & pf
Sir we are following below mentioned policy to every contractor working in our premises: 1. contractor need to have esi and pf code any number of contract employee he might be employing under him 2. if the contractor don t have esi & pf code we are requesting our consultant to pay esi & pf contribution under his code. the problem is we have m/s a contractor he got esi code but don t have pf code. is it possible that we can contribute esic under m/s a contractor and pf under our consultant. please help....

Case study regarding the contract workers pf
Dear sir we have in a peculiar situation regrding the pf remittences of contract workers. from the beginning the pf for contract workers have been remitted on the employer code. recently the management has taken a decision and ased all the contractors to get their own pf & esi code. accordingly some contractors have got separate pf code nos. after the contractors got the pf code the workers working under the contractors have objected and strongly defended the move and demanded to continue the same practice. then the management has came back to its decision and wants to continue the contract workers on the company code. since some of the contractors have got pf code the pf authorities are aksing to remit the contributons on the contractor code. in the light of the what we have do? kindly suggest m s giri
Centralised esi code
We have got esi code for our h.o. at varanasi. but we are also having our branches all over india where we deduct esi from our employees wages and deposit esi amount through challans sometimes in our clients esi account and some times in our code. my question is that whether centralised esi code can be applied for to enable us to deposit esi of all our branches in one code or esi code varies from state to state? please advise.

In our organisation which is a manufacturing industry employing more than 2000 employees on roll and almost 1500 worker as contract labour. we are covered under pf and esi. in case we engage any firm for certain finance and taxation job then aren t they liable to comply with pf and esi clauses. the firm argues that they will not come under pf and esi as their manpower is less than 10. my argument on the above is that as a responsible principal employer we must ensure vendors with pf and esi code because any person will enter in our factory premises should be covered under pf and esi to safeguard his interest. need your advice. rgds dg
Pf/esi deposit of contract labours
We have engaged a contractor for executing a job by deploying certain number of labours. the contractor left the work midway without making wage payment to his labours for the relevant period. now as per law being the principal employer we are liable to make payment of wages pf & esi to the contract labours. my question is under which pf & esi code should we make pf & esi deposit in respect of the contract labours ? as we know recently epfo & esic have introduced inline deposit of challans by the employer through a process of onregistration. under this paradigm can a principal employer be able to make deposit of on behalf of a third/contract employer? pl. suggest the future course of action. further what about the deposit of interest & damages for as there is some time lag between the wage payment by us being the principal employer we have already disbursed wages to contract labours & deposit of which is yet to be done by us.
