My employer gave me a salary slip where the hra is double of basic. previously it was done in accordance to the calculation hra 50 of basic in metros. but suddenly my hr manager says that there has been change in salary structure and hence the change when i told him hra in no case be more than basic he said it can be. please clarify. i m attaching the november salary slip this is perfect. in the december salary slip they made the following changes: basic 6500 hra13530 other allowance25070. decuctions: pf 780 prof tax313 workers welfare 20 and removed the rest like medical reimbursemt etc if you see the novembers slip and compare with the decemb can this be done by the employer? please guide me i m planning to take legal action.
Urgent - calculation of basic & hra %
Dear all can any one guide me on normally industry standard says of basic pay shold be 40 45 of gross salary but some companies aslo take 6070 of gs though i know there is no such fixed rule as per law on basic pay 1.my question is if we take less percentage of basic what will be the benefit to employee? 1. benefit to employer less pf contribution to be made. 2. benefit to employee ? is hra linked to basic pay like lower the basic more deduction employee can get on 2.what is hra i know it is 42 45 i am correct for eg: if gross salary is 10000 basic 40 of gross : 4000 hra 42 of basic : 1680 please guide me on the percentages...as i am designing the salary breakup for construction chemicals company. regards priyanka

Subject regarding merge of hra & other allowances to salary dear seniors you all are requested to kindly guide me the benefit of merging the hra special allowances bonus leave pay & medical in the basic salary. our esteemed organisation provides the following benefits to the employees along with basic salary: 1 special allowance as per grading of staff 2 hra 3 bonus of 20 released yearly 4 medical equivalent to 1 month basic salary released yearly 5 leave encashment equivalent to 1 month basic salary released yearly 6 pf 7 esic gsli now the management is deciding to merge the benefits from sl. no. 1 to 5 in the basic salary wef next fy. is is beneficial to the staff or not. pls reply. thanks
Pf calculation - after the amendment it need to be calculated from (grass - hra)
Hello everyone as per the new amendment pf calculation is changed. previously we used to calculate 12 of employee pf contribution from basic da but after the amendment it need to be calculated from grass hra so that 2 pay components are made compulsory in this calculation first one is its calculate 4050 from net salary 2nd one is hra now do we calculating 40 from basic or net salary for example : salary 18000 basic 7200 its 40 form salary hra 1 40 from net salary its 7200 2 40 from basic salary its 2880 which one is right so that we can arrive at pf wage to calculate pf?
Remodelling salary structure as per present trends
Please advise... we at present have our salary structure bifurcated into basic transport and hra. now we want to restructure it and introduce allowances like special allowance city allowance etc. so as to control the employer s liability pf contribution encashment of leaves gratuitywhich is directly effected by basic salary. my querry is that for people whose present basic salary is more than 6500/ p.m. will it attract any legal implication if their basic salary gets reduced. eg. suppose present salary is 10000 basic 2000 hra n we restructure it as 8000 basic 2000 hra 2000 will it attract any legal complication as we are reducing the basic salary component? note that we have a cieling limit for pf contribution as 6500/ p.m. please clarify rolly

I need help with understanding if unpaid leaves affect basic salary of a employee or gross salary basichra in our case of an employee and thus how are pf and esi compliance are affected. for example. a person is hired on 15000 basic and 750 hra 5 of basic and they take unpaid leave of 5 days in a month. so will their basic change for that month of to rs.12460 or will the basic remain the same and will their net change and the unpaid leave is deducted from their net. attaching calculations in 2 scenarios. please guide.
