My HR head wants me to prepare Employee State Insurance for the company situated in the rural sector. Would ESI be applicable there or I ll have to prepare workman's compensation policy.

Dear Sunil, In case the employees are to be deployed at ESIC exempted areas you need cover them up with WC even if your office is situated at ESIC covered areas.

We have our office at Mumbai, but our office at Jainpur - UP comes under ESIC non implemented areas , the SRO at Varanasi told us we cant get subcode for Jainpur , what to do now

With reference to your query, if your factory/Establishment is situated under implemented area declared by the ESIC and if you are employing 10 no's of employees getting salary upto 15000/- PM, you are required to get registered with the ESI Corporation in accordance with Statutory provision of the ESI Act, 1948.
