Hi
I am an HR in aUS based 30 employees company.i AM WORKING HERE FROM LAST 11 monts.my managers wanted me strict the leave and discipline rules.Now as i tighten the policy My employees are not satisfied from us and there is negativity for the leave and other disciplinary actions.Again my manager is yelling at me..I want to remove this negative culture.Could u please guide the way or any fun fridays or any other activity by which we can satisfy them

Hi priya,
whenever introduce new policies or changes we will get negative response from Employees.Its Nature. But, not suddenly implement all policies. one by one you can implement. The same time you can start some Employee Engagement activites like festival celebration,rewards and regognition,birthday celebration,independece day,family day ...........

Hi,
Role of HR person is like inter-mediator between employee & employer. So we can understand the situation of both so you have to discuss with manager or management with this type of situation & give a positive solution for that & we have to create or make that type of environment and policy which is beneficial for both side.
There are lots of actives for employee motivate & refreshment. We should do that because employees are real asset of company.

Hi Priya,
I empathise you because i already passed out from this situation. And i am completely agree with kumaresan, i did this in my compay.
Priya you can do these things:
1. Take the confidence of your department head first.
2. Arrange a general discussion with all and make them understand the importance of policy.
3. Arrange the activities which make employee feel good, take some suggestions from them so they feel that "HR is just not for the company but for employees too"
I am sure this will make a situation under control.... and one thing HR is the person who has always face this kind of situation (Sandwich...;))so do not take tension for what other employees are saying.... Do your best.... employees have to like you, because you are THE HR lastly...;)

Have you been hired to SATISFY all employees? You are hired to do your job. Discipline is a key for success. Sometimes, you need to take tough decisions and introduce difficult things so that the productivity increases and the company continues to grow. If anybody is not filling to accept it...they can leave.
