Dear all

I have a habit of being verbose, pardon but reading this could reap benefits.

I was toying with this for quite some long. Just a brief before I whoosh off. Flight of Phoenix is an excellent movie and can be used in the context of team building with amazing results. There is this flight carrying crew from Amacorem, crashes in wilderness, Gobi desert to be more precise, water & food is ration, no radioing possible, no civilization 300 mile vicinity, dust storm at 100 kmph - survival is bleak. Excellent example of storming, forming, norming & adjourning.

Forgive me if I missed something in the stages above. Now let me come to the point. I have DIY sketch partially ready for each of the characters - how they respond to each other and blah blah. The situation of plane crash can also be replicated by keeping participants 1 day in sun, rationed water & canned food, a broken 5 feet toy yacht or a plane, a facilitator who is more of a stone and a video recorder, DIY sketches of each characters given 1 day in advance to participants under "oath" that they dont discuss between themselves so that they can enact on the spur, a time limit which builds up (e.g - as the nomads attacking in the movie) and there you are - a bunch of people, disagreeing on everything, coming to consensus, building common sense of achievement...

All this will seem raw & crude, but Im sure its going to work out the way you want your team to bond. All help that I need is anyone of us watching the movie word by word, sequence by seqeunce and sharing how to actually build this activity. Once this is ready, I shall forward a more insightful team building presentation based on the book - the 7 dysfunctions of any team.

Steney

Dear Kannan
Thank you for your response. Yes, its a addictive movie, I ve almost neared the 28th count on viewing. You can even have more details about the cast, shoot location, etc on wikipedia. Just type Flight of the Phoenix.
Im quite sure we will be able to create measurable & learning situation together or with anyone in the community who can rack brains like both of us.
Thanks
