hieee i need sum help plz guide me guys.....
Am using 5 pt scale to measure new joinee satisfaction by structure question of 12 question.
wanted to knw which statistical tool should i use, as i need to check satisfaction on individual basis and my sample are 4 -5 new joineee...
and another thing i want final answer in such manner like 5/10 ya 7/10 etc. plz help me

With only 12 questions and 4 to 5 responses, any statistical analysis would be meaning less. Is the tool that you are going to use a standard one or designed by you?

Actually it will contained 12-15 question on follwing paremeters
1) orientation
2)training
) work culture & environment
4) Growth opportunities
5) relationship with colleague and manager
6)job profile & responsibilty
7) Autonomy
and i thought to use employee satisfaction index tool for calculation of rating of new joinee
plz suggest sumthing if dis is not useful

Dear Shubhangi,
You need to make clear as to what help you are seeking. I have viewed both your attachments. Are these hypothetical ones or are they ones filled by your staff?
Both the questionnaires have some questions with two factors combined in one and such questions should be rephrased. For example, the management may explain its goals but not the strategy.
I do not know how the ESI valie of 6 was arrived at with a score of 50 out of a Max 60.
Also, equal weights have been given to all the questions; is that right?

hey for ESI i had use formula ie total of rating * no of question /100
and filled question was hypothical i just want to confirm before giving to employee that, can it be use to understand satisfaction level

That's wrong. It should be (Total of rating/(Number of questions*5))*100 if you were using equal weights for all the questions. That's what you have done in the other questionnaire (Total of rating/(Number of questions*10))*100; 10 being the Max Rating for each question.

Dear Shubhangi, You are welcome; I can only explain but I can’t convince you from afar. What would be the ESI if the total was 60 instead of 50 in this case?

Your last two posts contradict each other. If everyone answers "5", does it not mean that all of them are extremly satisfied giving 100% satisfaction? Any index should not depend upon the number of responses.
