Respected seniors,
I am Dr sumit bansal and i completed my bachelors in Dental surgery in 2006, presently i am doing MBA HR from University Business School, Panjab University Chd.
I joined MBA basically to become a part of Healthcare industry as i was always inclined towards administration and for this a management degree was a must.
Just wanted my experienced seniors to guide me to get a good summer training in my choicest field, and how to go about it?
Thanks...

I am -also of the same openion.I have done MBA Hospital administration with HR specialization.
you can be a general HR Consultant for hospitals.Being a doctor is certainly going to help you out.
You can opt for administration also/ or even HR/ADMIN manager kind of job.
All depends upon the type and size of hospital.
Go ahead .
Best of luck.

Thank you very much maam for your valuable inputs, maam which hospital r u working in. I am based in Chd, and i think that no hospitals recruit HR Personal as such so i'll have to go in for a hospital administration course also? what do u suggest maam?

Hello,

I suppose you should, for your summar placement, aim at a big, established hospital where they have organized "hospital management" as a function. That way you will remain in healthcare industry and identify opportunities to use management concepts after you pass out.

Alternatively you may considwer any pharmaceutical manufacturer OR industries like Nestle`, Bournvita, Cadbury which are close to the healthcare industry though you may be able to practice only management learnings there which any other student from any other discipline can also do! I think, large hospitals or pharmaceutical industry your best bet!

Even if "hospital management" function is not organized in any such industry, you may still consider joining such an organization and do some pioneering work instead, for the organization in this area!

Having said all that, where do you see yourself after you pass out and are actively involved in final placement activity! That would be important too!
