Hello Amrita,
I am working in a software firm.
Leave structure is different in different IT companies.
In our company, the following is the structure
1. We have 21 days leave structure for a year. These are either encashable or enjoyable leaves
2. If an employee is a confirmed one, then at the start of the year he gets 10 fixed leaves out of 21 days.
3. After completion of each month one employee earns 1 day as earned leave.
e.g- I am a confirmed employee(I am not under probation)
On 1st of Jan, I got 10 fixed leaves. On 1st Feb, I will get 1 earned leave over and above these 10 days. So, on 1st Dec, I will have 10 Days+ 11 Earned Days= 21 days
If the employee is under probation or not confirmed, he will enjoy the earned leaves till he is confirmed. The day, he is confirmed, he will have extra 10 days.
Apart from this, we have 5 days paternal Leave as well as 3 months maternity leave.
My friends, who are working in other IT companies, they have different leave policies. Some have 27 days leave structure, 6 days come extra as sick leaves.
