you can opt for fellowship, there are several good institutes eg carlton advanced management institute/ middle earth consultants..fee is also reasonable.. i think if you score a scholarship should cost <1 lac..
there are several such good institutes where you can do a fellowship and post doctoral research work too and they dont insist on master degree, pgdm is fair enough
in australia, they had a provision, even if you are high school pass, with 6 years supervisory exp, you can do an mba...
am a life member of AIMA, there are provisions for getting a honorary doctorate too (chech their website for details)

Hi chandrasekhar,
in 2000, when i enrolled with AIMA, then PGDM was accepted ..
depending on the papers picked in PGDM, one even gots credits (if there is a similiar subject, one can skip it altogether)
i completed my PGDM in 2000 from LBSIM, then Phd was not mandatory for job of a lecturer... i got offers for lecturer..
in 94, one could become a lecturer in engg college with just a BE...
even now there are several bodies which accept PGDM for fellowship/ post fellowship...
warm regards
surya
