My dear Karthik,
HR professionals across the globe are stressed with one aspect - achieve the set target within the given time frame. Most of the organizations expect their HR professional to 'perform' to give tangible results. Previously it was not like that and again it is because of the global competition and everything hovers around human capital.
The punitive personnel department turned long time back to become Human Resources Development only to indulge in talent hunt, train the employees and retain them. Machines can be handled easily but not the men with mind which is highly dynamic in nature.

My dear Karthik,
This topic is a "laddu" for students like you. Prepare a questionnaire containing questions regarding all vital points. The questions should be simple and able to fetch clear answers. Please touch all the points you raised for the poll above. You have to meet HR Heads at least in 10 different organizations (with diversified operations). The above poll results will also be helpful for you to conclude.
The questionnaires can either be filled by the individuals or you can read out these questions and mark on your questionnaire. You need to put much efforts in meeting people as many would say they are busy. The crust and cream of the project would be your ability to reason out and justify your inference with ample proof.
