SAP Details

Hi,
Any one can please help me out with SAP HR material,i m really interested in joining this course but in a big dilema how to start on with?Please can anyone guide me on this.

You may find herewith an attachment in which the course contents for SAP (HR) is mentioned. Normally 60-75 days for full-time and 90-120 days for part-time training is given to complete SAP (HR) course. I want to let you know that SAP is a German based company which develops software application packages used by business managers to implement ERP in inventory control,order tracking,customer service,finance,HR & any other business activity. It is an online financial & administrative software (S/W) composed of individual, integrated s/w modules (technical & functional) that perform various organizational system tasks. SAP is an acronym which stands for <Systeme, Anwendungen, Produkte in der Datenverarbeitung> in Germany & <Systems, Applications & Products in Data Processing> in English. SAP is the 4th largest S/W company in the world which ranks in order after Microsoft, IBM, & Oracle in terms of market capitalization. In SAP Technical Module we have ABAP, SAP Architecture, BDC, BAPI, EDI, ITS etc. etc. But, in SAP Functional Module we have MM(Material Mgmt.),SD (Sales & Distribution),PP (Production Planning), HR (Human Resources), QM (Quality Mgmt.), WM (Warehouse Mgmt.), LO (Logistics), CA (Cross Application), TR (Treasury & Cash), FI/CO (Financial Controlling), PS (Project & Systems) and PM (Plant Maintenance). I have a lot of doubts regarding SAP, guess you'll be able to help me out.

Here is a brief description about my profile:

Qualification: BSc (Computer Sc.)
Experience: 13 months as a recruitment specialist (IT & ITES recruitments).
The doubt: I have heard a lot about SAP, SAP HR, HRMS et al... have understood some & not understood a lot. Some of my doubts are:

• What is SAP all about?
• Does one need to be a hardcore programmer to get into SAP implementation?
• What is the difference bw SAP & HRMS?
• Do you need a substantial amount of experience to pursue this course?
• Is this the right time for me to pursue this course?
• I know its expensive.. what is the salary range once you complete this course?
• Which are the companies which would require a SAP-HR professional?
• I am planning to do my MBA next year full-time.. would you suggest that I take up the SAP course instead of my MBA (Since both cost approx. the same) & then consider doing my MBA thru correspondance. will that add value?
• Does Siemens give placements after the course?
• How is my current experience going to help me during & after the course?

Dear Mr. Nitin,

1) First of all you have get the idea "Why software application we need?" Ans:"To minimise the work load, and not in paper, you retrive the data when ever u need".

2) Where this application need? " Where ever the business is running (it can be any kind of transaction)"

3) Earlier mostly manfacturing induatries are there. They planned the operation through MRP.
( i.e): Material Resource planning. According to the material in stock, production are done. so application developed also based on MRP only.

4) After that business are attained globally. And every departement needs customisation and software application to compitate. so all come to the conclusion to focus on whole Enterprises. so they shifted their idea from MRP to ERP(Enterprises Resource planning).

5) Under ERP many software applications are developed
Eg:- Tally for accounts, People soft(HRM),oracle(Finance), IBM(CRM),SAP.

6) SAP is only company have developed all department application as each modules. and all these modules are interrelated. so if any changes in stores updates will be known by production department immdiately, same way marketing departement got any purchase order, immdiately it will reflect to inventory and production management and production departement too.

7) so HRMS is a Human resource managament system. its a entity. Application are developed for HRMS also...

SAP is the world leader in ERP packages...

9) Its having lot of department(modules), helps the business to run faster in this competition.

10) so i request you to work in HR departement and get the idea abt the core area, then do the SAP HR.

11) Mainly SAP is already developed, if u studied also, your work is customisation of that application according to your client need. so you have to have core knowledge about HR. then only you can win the race..

i would help you give sme valuable inputs about sap not all because i am also a fresher in this field.
technolgy thru erp systems r the need of the hour. sap is one of those erps systems which help u value time , data, costs and information.
other erp systems like baan, peoplesoft r not gud for all modules because they focus on single modules but sap is at edge becoz it is a combination for various modules like hr, finance , materials mangement, production ,sales and distbn, together.
In SAP it not necessary to be a hardcore programmer if u wud go for the functional consultant, in hr, finance, production based on ur choice.
But if u have a technical background u can go for ABAP programming which is codin programs nd languages to be run in sap.
once u cmplete ur mba then u can go for this course becoz then itys a much better undersatnding of the business processes and configuring the systems for clients.
U can get sap certification and nwadys IT companies do hire mba freshers for sap consultants where they gve the traing n projects...
SAP is a booming sector where it has captured 70% market share in india and 30-40% in abroad. so there r many opportunities to tap in abroad...hope this information wud be of sme use to u...
