Dear All,
Request you to guide me about No. of leaves entitles for Factory Workers in Tamilnadu as per Factory Act about Casual Leave. I knew that no separate provision for sick leave for factories and it should come under Casual leave only. Earned leave or Privilege leave should not be allowed for first calender year of any worker and he has to complete 240 days of work for this provision and every 20 days of work he worked, he will be entitled for one day leave. Whether only one day can be consider as privilege leave? I heard that if its continuous 3 days leave, then only it should be considered as privilege leave.
Advise me if I am wrong and also clarify my doubts.
If not mentioned in Law, what are the practices used in Factories?

Dear Vivek
Please check your Factory's HR Policy. What it spells about the Leave. Normally for workers, it is 1 day leave for every completed 20 working days worked. In case of office/managerial staff the same is 8 days Casual leave and PL/EL will be about 20 to 30 days as approved by your management.
Normally, maximum 02 days CL can be availed in one stretch and if the leave duration is more than 2 days then it must be PL / EL.
