Hi Sai,
If you have fudged documents then this indeed is a very serious issue of integrity. If the complany has a process of getting background verification done, which is usually done in most of the organisation, then you can definetly be in trouble. Speak to the HR and get it sort out amicably.

Hey Sai,
This is a case of integrity and your organization will take it with extreme seriousness if they do a background check and find out that you have fudged your documents. I would suggest you move out before they do find this mal-practice and terminate your employment. You cannot sort this out with HR as No HR Manager will entertain that you have submitted fudged documents unless they are un-ethical.

I think, he said that he has got an offer, he did has not joined the organization. Am I right Sai? If this is so, please communicate to them about the inflated salary information you provided to them. Also apologise for having done that. sometimes, they may consider. Otherwise also, there would not be any problem (as they will not release offer letter to you). so, you can continue in the same organization.
After joining the organization, if they come to know about this, then your job will be in jeopardy.
Providing wrong information to an employer will be viewed seriously. This will follow you in your career throughout and you never be able to come out of its clutch. Act quickly and immediately.

False promises , over commitmment and showing what you are not is made by many but its not considered as integrity issue but surely document is a proof so dont do like this . Sai is honest to accept what he did wrong, his posting itself is a proof of this, Sai I would say Honesty is best policy and dont worry about salary it will be more than you expect if you are only worried about your work may be later if not sooner....

Have you said that you were getting more than you did or have you produced a Fake salary slip. If it is the former, you can easily put it right by admitting that. If it is the latter, then it is a question of integrity.
