Hi all ,

I am working in a consultancy,the organisation does not provide us with pay slips, only thing we have with us is bank statement. Being a recruiter, i know that every organisation asks the new joinee to get his/her previous pay slips. Will it make some difference?? Can bank statements be used in place of pay slips??

Hey,

Incase of documentation verification done by companies bank statements works as the last option. However things that you should be aware of.

Why is the company not giving their employees payslips ?
are they deducting government related components like ESIC, PT & provident funds etc ? Because these things is not mentioned on pay slip will not make the employee eligible for the same.
It certainly makes a difference because u can not prove to your new employer with the net salary you were making and you definitely cannot show them your bank accounts.

Salary slips along with the Letter of Appointment or Letter of Increment is an acceptable document. In case of no salary slips...Form 16 is preferred. If there is no Form 16...then Bank Statement is accepted.

Hi Priyanka,

Mr. Sanjeev has given the correct perspective. However, why your company is not giving salary slips is an enigma.Please try to find out the reasons for it. As Mr. Sohil has pointed out the salary slip contains deductions also which is not in the bank statement. In future, when you want to join any new company they will demand your previous latest pay slip for confirmation and verification.
Some companies, when the employee leaves the company, do give last pay certificate which contains the full salary details including deductions, which may help. Please find out whether your company gives the last pay certificate to such employees.

Your position is delicate and you have move your way very cautiously in the office. Take some elderly persons into confidence and find out from them why the company does not give the pay slips. Be polite in your request and communication. Don't give an impression that you are spying or investigating things.
In this respect, I wish you a lot of good luck. Be brave and bold.
