Dear all we have certain staff in our office who have got extension and are working beyond 60years of age. these are contractual staff who s contract are renewed every 6 months. how do we allocate leave to these staff. would their leave be treated as any regular staff s leave regards crystal

Staff to go on two maternity leave in less than 18 months
Dear seniors i have a situation in my organization and i need expert advice on it. my company has policy that a female staff who has worked for at least six months is entitled to maternity leave. but it does not say anything about the frequency. i have a staff who went on maternity leave when she was almost six months in the employment of the company. she went on 23rd of april 2012. this staff has confidentially reported to hr that she is pregnant to be due in august 2013. please i need your urgent advice on what hr can suggest to management to do on this matter as we do not have any policy that says she cannot be given maternity leave. your urgent advice needed please. thank you. eriisinmi lagos nigeria

Ours is a pharmaceutical company based in punjab. we have total 350 person associated with our company: about 60 persons as production staff staff & workers in manufacturing unit outskirts of ludhiana about 20 person admin staff working in the same premises of manufacturing unit outskirts of ludhiana about 20 person admin staff working in the registered office based in main city of ludhiana. about 250 sales staff managers and medical representatives working in the field in various states of india. my query is to know exactly under which act our leave policy and other service rules should be? sales promotion employees act/shop and establishment act/factory act? should we have a single leave policy for all or separate for sales staff factory staff and registered office staff.
Discontinue of leave encashment
Dear seniors i need to solve a situation which was suppose to be solved 4 yrs ago by a senior person of the company.it was informed to the senior that their would be no leaves carried froward or encashment but this was not informed to the staff. now this person has left and it is news to allstaff & directors.what would be the best way to solve this issue as their are staff members with abt.102 leaves accumulated.

Dear seniors hello i am working in a builder firm as an hr person. till this time we never had any leave policy in our office now the partners are deciding to adopt one i proposed them that there should be minimum 21 days leave granted to the employees however the top bosses are not agreeing to it and saying that the national holidays will be inclusive in the leave which comes to 16 days in a year and rest 5 days the staff can take the leave. would like to know is there any difference between the holiday and leaves and is the difference stated in any of the acts. this way the system is not beneficiary to the staff and is also not professional. this is creating a kind of demotivation among the staff. please help me at the earliest. thanking you in anticipation. regards deepali
