quarterly performance appraisal ..?

dear all.
my director asked me to do quarterly appraisal(april-june'07) only for shopfloor employees and supervisors. he said for the rest of the non technical,sales and admin employees appraisal should be done annually. can we implement this kind of appraisal system. quarterly appraisal for shopfloor employees and supervisors and annual appraisl for the rest of the employees.
can we do this?
