UK Holiday List

I'm a new joinee to this Site.
It has helped me in many ways. Thanks a lot to all valuable information providers.

I'm a 2007 Fresher, currently working for a midsize concern as HR Executive (Internal).

They have asked me to prepare of list of holidays. Can anyone help me out with List of UK & US holidays???

Hi Arsha,

UK has relatively few public holidays. They are usually described as Bank Holidays because they are days when banks are officially closed.

Hope the attached list for 2007, 2008 & 2009 helps. Please note that for Scotland, there're following differences:

1) Easter Monday is not a bank holiday although is observed by many.
2) Summer Bank Holiday is FIRST Monday in August, instead of last Monday as in England & Wales and falls on 6th, 4th & 3rd Aug for 2007, 2008 & 2009 respectively.
3) In January 2007, the St Andrew's Day Bank Holiday (Scotland) Act was given royal assent, making 30 November (or the nearest Monday if a weekend) a bank holiday in Scotland.
